La palabra chamán proviene de un vocablo de origen siberiano shaman que identifica hombre-dios-medicina. El vocablo tungu original xaman contiene la raíz scha, “saber”, por lo que chamán significa “alguien que sabe, sabedor, que es un sabio”.
Pero Que es el chamanismo?, que son los chamanes? se les describe como los sabios indígenas de muchos lugares del mundo; para muchos actualmente es un sistema de sanación, un camino de sabiduría ancestral, una filosofía práctica, una disciplina espiritual y una forma de vida. Se estima que tiene entre cuarenta y veinte mil años de antigüedad.
Surgió en diferentes partes del Planeta (en todos los continentes) y no fue ni es exclusivo de ninguna etnia en particular. Se ha practicado y se practica en diversas regiones geográficas y climáticas: selvas, bosques, montañas, planicies y desiertos, tundra, ártico, y costas; y en zonas de variada densidad de población, desde las más pobladas hasta las más aisladas de la naturaleza.
Tantos años y tantas culturas han dado lugar a una gran diversidad de tradiciones chamánicas, por lo que a veces resulta difícil englobarlas a todas en una misma disciplina. No obstante, se puede hablar de “chamanismo” (en singular) porque estas tradiciones comparten una cosmovisión, una búsqueda, y una forma de relacionarse con la vida y el medio ambiente.
Al principio de los tiempo eran la conexión entre el mundo de los vivos y los muertos, también poseían conocimientos ancestrales sobre el uso de la herbolaria ·
Para el chamán todo es energía, luz y vibración en diferentes frecuencias. Todo en el Universo está conectado. Existen diferentes mundos y niveles de percepción de la realidad. El mundo material es creado por el mundo espiritual.

The word shaman comes from a word of Siberian origin shaman that identifies man-god-medicine. The original tungu word xaman contains the root scha, "to know", so shaman means "someone who knows, knowing, who is a sage".
But what is shamanism? What are shamans? they are described as the indigenous sages of many parts of the world; for many today it is a healing system, a path of ancient wisdom, a practical philosophy, a spiritual discipline and a way of life. It is estimated that it is between forty and twenty thousand years old.
It emerged in different parts of the planet (on all continents) and was not and is not exclusive to any particular ethnic group. It has been practiced and is practiced in various geographic and climatic regions: jungles, forests, mountains, plains and deserts, tundra, arctic, and coasts; and in areas of varied population density, from the most populated to the most isolated from nature.
So many years and so many cultures have given rise to a great diversity of shamanic traditions, which is why it is sometimes difficult to include them all in the same discipline. However, one can speak of "shamanism" (in the singular) because these traditions share a worldview, a search, and a way of relating to life and the environment.
For the shaman everything is energy, light and vibration in different frequencies. Everything in the Universe is connected. There are different worlds and levels of perception of reality.
The material world is created by the spiritual world.

The first known interstellar object to visit our solar system, 1I/2017 U1 ‘Oumuamua, was discovered Oct. 19, 2017 by the University of Hawaii’s Pan-STARRS1 telescope, funded by NASA’s Near-Earth Object Observations (NEOO) Program, which finds and tracks asteroids and comets in Earth’s neighborhood. While originally classified as a comet, observations revealed no signs of cometary activity after it slingshotted past the Sun on Sept. 9, 2017 at a blistering speed of 196,000 miles per hour (87.3 kilometers per second). It was briefly classified as an asteroid until new measurements found it was accelerating slightly, a sign it behaves more like a comet.
The first confirmed object from another star to visit our solar system, this interstellar interloper appears to be a rocky, cigar-shaped object with a somewhat reddish hue. The object, named ‘Oumuamua by its discoverers, is up to one-quarter mile (400 meters) long and highly-elongated—perhaps 10 times as long as it is wide. That aspect ratio is greater than that of any asteroid or comet observed in our solar system to date. While its elongated shape is quite surprising, and unlike objects seen in our solar system, it may provide new clues into how other solar systems formed.
The observations suggest this unusual object had been wandering through the Milky Way, unattached to any star system, for hundreds of millions of years before its chance encounter with our star system.
“For decades we’ve theorized that such interstellar objects are out there, and now―for the first time―we have direct evidence they exist,” said Thomas Zurbuchen, associate administrator for NASA’s Science Mission Directorate in Washington, in November 2017.
